EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing)

A form of treatment that helps individuals heal from trauma as it relates to the mind and body.  EMDR has been proven to help reduce symptoms of PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety.

When we experience trauma our brain can sometimes go offline. Our nervous systems are in disarray which can result in intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, nightmares, etc. We are left feeling stuck and coping in ways that are maladaptive.

Starting with the process called Resourcing, you will identify people, places, and things that bring you comfort, that support and make you feel safe. After your Resources are solidified you will begin to reprocess events, feelings and memories that are upsetting through “Bi-Lateral Stimulation or Tapping.” Through the process of EMDR our brains begin to understand that we in fact did survive and can overcome our past traumas.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

An evidenced based practice that offers people the ability to look at dysfunctional thought processes and reframe negative thoughts, patterns and beliefs that interfere with our daily lives, resulting in the ability to identify negative core beliefs and cognitive distortions so that we can improve our thinking, thus changing our feelings and behaviors.

CBT is a collaborative approach that is an evidence based practice. Its proven results can help illicit new perceptions, empower clients to make positive changes in their lives and help give new language to describe how our thoughts and feelings influence our behaviors.
