Course Description and Target Audience: This continuing education course is for mental health providers. It will provide an introduction to secondary traumatic stress (STS), compassion fatigue (CF), and burnout. The course will also offer mental health professionals practical tools for assessing and managing STS, CF, and burnout.

Instructor Information: Mariana Harms (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #8498, expiration date 12/31/26) and Clinical Supervisor with Ventura Therapy Collective. Mariana has worked in a variety of settings, including the non-profit sector, private practice, and a Federally Qualified Health Center. She has extensive experience working with children and families as well as with training on topics such as Adverse Childhood Experiences, trauma-informed care, secondary traumatic stress, positive parenting practices, and evidence-based practices (including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
